Castelfranco di Sopra

Castelfranco di Sopra located in the valley of the Great Lawn, just at its base along the road known Provincial Setteponti. The entrance from inside the village consists of a'500 wonderful tower, designed by Arnolfo di Cambio. In 1996 Castelfranco celebrated on the seventh centenary of its foundation. We also find the headquarters of the Theatre named after Wanda Capodaglio, known actress of prose in Castelfranco who spent the last years of his life. The village founded at the end of the thirteenth century, positioned strategically to control transit trade and military domination of the area. Castelfranco consists of a square-shaped plant, with a central square from which starts straight and parallel roads. Over the centuries Castelfranco had no major changes as a whole.
